Most people do not overpay for video editing because editors charge too much. They overpay because the scope is unclear. A 60-second reel, a 12-minute YouTube video, a product film, a testimonial, and a paid ad can all be called “editing”, but they do not require the same work. One may need only clean cuts and captions. Another may need scripting support, story structure, colour correction, audio repair, motion graphics, versioning, platform exports, and revision management.
